Pursuing PhD in Microbiology

Hello! My name is Christina, and I’m from the foothills of western North Carolina. I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry from Lenoir–Rhyne University, where my undergraduate research focused on identifying antimicrobial compounds produced by fungal endophytes. Through summer REUs and internships, I studied microbial systems spanning agricultural to peatland soils at NC State University, Washington State University, and most recently, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. At NDSU, I am pursuing a PhD in Microbiology with interests in plant-microbe interactions and using synthetic microbial communities to study soil and plant health. In my free time, you might find me looking for cool plants, learning new instruments, or traveling!
