Welcome
Microbial communities play a pivotal role in all ecosystems. Our lab aims to understand the factors that govern microbiome assembly and microbe-microbe interactions. We investigate microbiome recruitment into the rhizosphere and roots of plants, and how abiotic and biotic factors alter the structure and functions of microbial communities. We also determine how certain groups in the microbiome become highly connected and exert a strong influence on the community. Since highly connected taxa can enhance stability, we aim to harness such groups to improve the resilience of the microbiome to global change factors, such as drought and salinity. research.
